Privacy Policy
Effective 19 September 2026
OutLoud is an app for going public with your goals: you check in, and the people you choose can see it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run OutLoud, how long we keep information, and the choices you have.
OutLoud is operated by Avishai Idel, an independent developer ("we", "us"), who is responsible for your information. Contact: spreaditt.app@gmail.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account: your email address (once you save your account), display name, username, bio, profile photo, and date of birth, which we use to confirm you are 16 or older.
- Content: goals, check-ins (including proof photos and numbers you enter), posts, comments, reactions and nudges, the groups you create or join, the people you follow, and the reports you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Devices: a random key the app creates to hold your account before you add an email address, and for each signed-in device its name, platform, app version, IP address and user agent.
- Settings: your time zone and language, so streaks and reminders follow your day, and your reminder and notification choices.
- Notifications: a push notification token, if you allow notifications.
- Photo details: when you attach a photo, we read when it was taken so it can be labelled as fresh proof. Location and other embedded details are removed when we process the photo.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, health data or advertising identifiers. We do not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
How we use it
- To run OutLoud (the service you asked for): your account, check-ins, streaks, feeds, groups, reminders and notifications.
- To keep OutLoud safe (our legitimate interest in a safe service): photos are checked automatically by an image moderation service, what you write is checked against a list of words that are not allowed, we review reports, and we limit repeated requests to prevent abuse.
- To contact you: sign-in codes, your data export, and messages about your account or safety.
- Push notifications are sent only if you allow them, and you can turn them off at any time.
Who can see your content
You choose who sees each goal: everyone, your followers, your groups, or only you. You can also make your account private, so only followers you approve see it. Content shared in a group is visible to its members. People you block cannot see your profile or content, and you cannot see theirs.
Service providers
These companies run parts of OutLoud for us, under their data processing terms:
- Render: app server and website hosting, in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Supabase: database, in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Amazon Web Services: photo storage and automated photo moderation, in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Resend: email delivery (sign-in codes, data exports, account and safety messages), in the United States.
- Expo: app updates and push notification delivery, in the United States.
- Apple: delivery of notifications to your iPhone.
When information is transferred outside your country, it is protected by the safeguards these providers offer, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- We keep your information while your account exists.
- When you delete your account, it is deactivated straight away and deleted permanently after 30 days. Signing in during those 30 days cancels the deletion.
- Accounts that were never saved with an email address are deleted, with everything in them, after 30 days.
- Data export files are deleted 7 days after they are created.
- Server logs, which include IP addresses, are kept for up to 30 days.
- Copies may remain in backups for a limited time until they are overwritten.
Your choices and rights
- Access and export: in the app, go to You → Settings → Your data → Export my data. Within 24 hours a file with your goals, check-ins, posts and links to your photos is ready to download from that screen; we send a notification, and the link works for 7 days.
- Correction: edit your profile at any time in You → Settings → Edit profile.
- Deletion: You → Settings → Your data → Delete account.
- Objection and restriction: email us.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have these rights under data protection law, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. If you live in California, note that we do not sell or share personal information.
Children
OutLoud is for people aged 16 and older. We ask for your date of birth and do not allow younger users. If you believe someone under 16 is using OutLoud, contact us and we will delete the account.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit. Photos are stored privately and shown only through links that expire, and access to our systems is limited to what is needed to run OutLoud.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date, and tell you in the app about any significant change.
